.: About Us:.

Scott Bailey cut his teeth in the garage with his father. He built his first engine at the age of 13.  Scott and his father restored a 1969 Mustang that Scott would later drive and win numerous drag races in. Scott would later realize that he and his father were building more than engines, they were building the passion behind Scott Bailey Racing Engines.

Scott started working in an engine shop right out of high school. He was building engines for local drivers, winning numerous races and track championships thru the late 80’s and early 90’s. March of 1991 he had the opportunity to go to work for Rick Hendrick in one of his automotive dealerships.

He started out as a line mechanic, working his way up to service manager. Over the years he and Rick Hendrick became friends, and he introduced Scott to key people at Hendrick Motor Sports, one of them being Jeff Degase who was the cylinder head department manager for Hendrick Motor Sports.

With Jeff’s guidance Scott was able to build a very competitive SB2 engine as early as the year 2000. That style of engine went on to win numerous races and track championships.

Scott served as crew chief and engine builder (with his brother Steve Bailey) for David Turner racing throughout the 90’s and mid 2000’s. In 2004 Billy Moyer would drive the David Turner ride with a Scott Bailey engine in the Arizona Winter Nationals to win the mini series points championship.

In 2012 Scott and Jesse Stovall would team up to win the MARS championship. Bailey/Stovall team would become inseparable and go on to win the MLRA points championship in 2016.
Scott Bailey Racing engines would later team up with Kyle Berck, Tad Pospisil, Mike Balcean and several other drivers.

Scott Bailey Racing Engines would add employee Josh Poe in 2013. Josh became a full partner in 2016.
